"Jesus sinner guests were well aware that table fellowship entailed more than mere politeness or courtesy. It meant peace, acceptance reconciliation and brotherhood... Joy in fact the most characteristic result of all His ministry to ragamuffins." The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning (http://books.google.com/books/about/The_Ragamuffin_Gospel.html?id=_lyT3Xs552UC)
Brother Manning goes on to say that if JESUS came to your house for dinner tonight and He sat down to look into your eyes and for all your sin, darkness, hypocrisy, true intentions, imaginations, secrets and the like, would you be able to see His love, acceptance and forgiveness."
Would you be able to hear His voice whispering His desire for you to know how much He loves you?
Interview with Charles Grace, SC
about His new song "Whisper" & new release.
Q1 How long have you been writing for the Lord?
Intentionally, for the past six months. Although when I look back, there are traces of the Lord throughout my music, since my first album. I have always used animals as symbolism. The lion and the rabbit were big symbols early on to represent my childhood. Then the lamb entered the mix to represent my idea of purity and a life partner.
Q2 What inspired you to write Whisper?
Whisper came to me at a very difficult time in my life. I was coming to the end of myself emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I felt abandoned by those who were once close to me. I was out of a job. I would lay in the bed and stare at the ceiling. It was not a good time. Whisper is really me asking God to pull me out of my own mess.
Q3 Would you like to share your thoughts about the lyrics or do you prefer to leave that to the listener?
It really started as a musical conversation between God and myself. Then, it grew into a blatant cry for help and healing. It is really a direct acknowledgement of the many ways in which I view Jesus, as a sweetness, a healer, and a teacher.
Q4 What other songs might be in your new album if you don't mind me asking?
There will be plenty of songs that showcase the spiritual growth that I have undertaken in the past two and half years. Other titles include "Caretaker's Eyes," "Prodigal Father," and "Anticipation," which will be the title track of the new album. This record will probably be my most transparent and mature one yet. I did not think I could go any deeper within myself, but it has happened. There is a lot of pain and a lot of joy, but it all comes with the territory. It all points to a greater good, I think.
