In the Fire Light:
"Do This…"
Luke 22:9 1 Corinthians 11:24-25
The Communion Celebration is made up of the Ceremony and the Celebration.
The Lord didn't ask us to do it as an empty gesture, or as a memorial…this is not a funeral. We "Do this" to remember JESUS. It is to celebrate His triumphant victory over sin and death.
The Ceremony
The Communion ceremony happens when the believer holds His Body in their hands. It is when they hold the cup, His Testament and Blood, in their hands. It is ‘The’ tangible expression of JESUS. We eat the bread and drink the cup as a witness to His testimony. It is His gift to us as a reminder that:
We do "show the Lord's death until He comes again".
The Celebration
Who doesn’t like a celebration? Just like after a wedding…we head to the reception! The ceremony is over so let the party begin! The Celebration of His presence continues.
The breaking and eating of the bread opens our eyes to 'recognize' Him! We celebrate that. The drinking of the wine from the cup opens our ears to hear Him. We celebrate that. The combination of these two actions, the eating and the drinking brings about the seeing and the hearing. This transforms us into His image from glory to glory. The more we think about what happens the more it crystallizes inside of us. We begin to share with others at the table.
This transformation continues as we digest what happened. We have witnessed healing and deliverance…comfort and joy. Our faith strengthens and solidifies. In communion we experience the His fullness of His presence and that kind of encounter is hard thing to keep to yourself!

- He is not dead, but alive!
- He triumphed over sin and death
- He is seated in Heavenly places.
- His stripes have healed.
- His wounds have forgiven all our transgressions
