CommunionFire in Scripture
Chapter Five
Transfiguration Brings Transformation
This Morning
I received inspiration to write this, this morning, at 1 a.m. because I was awakened by the Lord. When I sat up and tried to lay down again the Holy Spirit said, "To the left you miss it. To the right you miss it. Too far north and you miss it and too far south you miss it."
Then I sat up again and I said, "Miss what Lord?" He said, "When JESUS comes to you through CommunionFire it is His LOVE (agape) that you encounter. Love is the center point. It reveals Him to you. Love speaks to you. He is LOVE. Its all about His love for you!" What I understood was something about the Transfiguration when you come to His Table. We encounter the glory of the Lord that was seen by Peter, James and John with the witnesses of Elijah and Moses on the mountain, it is His LOVE that shines. That is His Glory! The glory as of the only Begotten of the Father full of grace and truth. He LOVES you just that much. Let the Love and Presence of Jesus touch you and engulf you like a cloud. He wants to share His Love with you every moment of every day! Its not to the left or right of the Table or to the north or south of the Table - It is At His Table we encounter His great LOVE when we receive Communion!
Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his clothing was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him.
Peter, James and John:
In CommunionFire this is what happens now! In our mundane living room or on the streets of the city we ask the Lord to bless the bread and the cup and then while consuming His Body and Blood we encounter the glory of His presence. We are transported to the Mountain of the Lord. We see JESUS as He is, transfigured before us to share His love. He comes to us where He is (a place we don't think twice) for who He is to us at that moment. He with holds nothing from us. In that glory I have seen Him on a beach just walking toward me with fireworks going on behind Him. Then drinking the wine banners unfurl that declare His 'His banner over me is love.' Camille has seen Him sitting across from her at the Table the night of the last supper. Then while looking at Him, while drinking the wine she feels His life inside her as the wine, His Blood fills her with His life. He is transfigured before us.
Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if you will, let us make here three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear you him. And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were much afraid.
This same voice out of the cloud as was heard at Jesus water baptism now is heard again. Peter in his 'not sure what to do now mode' says, "Lets put up some tents for you guys!" Then a bright cloud covered them and they heard the voice of the Father! Jesus in His glory is overshadowed by the Heaven cloud of Glory! This again is what is happening in CommunionFire today. We come from the temporal into the eternal glory of JESUS through the elements of the bread and the wine.
And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, except Jesus only.
In CommunionFire when all is said and done what we remember most is the glory of JESUS in what ever way it 'overshadows us' at His Table. In His light we see light and we hear His voice, "Be not afraid.". The light of heaven is the cloud of His love. At the center of it is LOVE from HEAVEN. In it without words we hear Him say, "I love you. I approve of you. I am here for you. I love you with an everlasting love. You are perfect when you are with me. You are complete and need nothing more than me." Beaming from the center of the transfiguration is LOVE! The Father says in His eternal 'love voice', "This is My BELOVED Son In whom I am pleased. Hear Him!" Now we behold Jesus full of grace and truth. He is the BELOVED One. He says to you, "You are my BELOVED. In you I am well pleased." No where do we know this in any greater concentration than when He comes to us in His glory in the CommunionFire. He is love and love is kind and gentle; full of mercy, grace and reassurance.
And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead. And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elijah must first come? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they desired. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spoke unto them of John the Baptist. Matthew 17:1-13
Jesus finishes this powerful experience where they encounter Him in His glory for the first time by telling them, "Tell the vision to no man until the Son of man be risen again from the dead and that Elijah had returned in the form of John the Baptist." In CommunionFire the Lord shows us things and speaks to us. It is no less simple than what we see in scripture. We must remember that in the days of JESUS people saw Him every day "as He was for who He was wherever He was" and that is how He comes to us in Communion. JESUS is alive! He is not dead. When we encounter Him it is the Living Jesus! The Transfigured JESUS! The Resurrected JESUS!
This Easter and Every Day
I pray for you in this Easter Week: Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Morning when many will have Communion that, "Lord, when the bread, your Body and wine, your Blood is blessed, that all over the world eyes will open and recognize You! That the Miracle of CommunionFire will be poured out all over the world!" Look for JESUS this Easter in the breaking of the bread. When He opens your eyes and you recognize Him, "Stop, Look & Listen" He is waiting for you and wants to share His life with you and He will.
The Miracle of the CommunionFire is encountering His LOVE in Communion! In His presence the Holy Spirit reveals JESUS who shares His Love with us in ways that lets us know it is Him. His Love reveals His face, His presence, His touch where you are as you are for who you are. His Love speaks to us sometimes without saying words and sometimes by the whisper or voice of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes it is scripture but whatever it is it is always Love speaking in a way we know its Him. And sometime He shares about things to come. We may not always understand these things but when the time is right it all makes sense.
In CommunionFire we encounter the transfigured, resurrected JESUS and when we look upon His face or hear His voice we are transformed by the Love coming from that image from glory to glory. We experience a transition from the temporary into the eternal. We literally 'taste and see' that He is good and that His mercy endures forever and is real every day. (2 Corinthians 3:18 and 4:18)

Peter, James and John:
- Led by the Good Shepherd to the top of a high mountain (The Table of Communion)
- He was transfigured in front of them (metamorphoses)
- His face shone like the sun (they witnessed His phos)
- His clothing was white as light (He was clothed in the phos)
- Moses & Elijah appeared having a conversation with JESUS (the reality of eternal life)
