In The Fire Light: While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body." Matthew 26:26
When I see this picture, the sand reminds me of the top of a loaf of bread and the crashing wave makes me think of the overflow of life that comes from His Holy Spirit. The bread of life and the water of life are two constants in the Christian faith.
Someone shared that in CommunionFire they saw the Communion Bread covering the ocean like an endless field. When we feed upon it it releases the water of life like a powerful wave filling our body.
When Jesus took bread in the last supper, gave thanks and broke it He said, "Take and eat; this is my body." Can you imagine sitting there? Then you take this bread blessed by God and He tells you this is me! "Eat My Body." Do you think that this bread would bring about something special in your life?
My Mom and I have always had a yen for finding the best cheeseburger ever made. I've had Mc Donalds, In & Out Burgers, 5 Guys and then I thought I found the best burger ever. It was Sylvesters in Los Osos, California. I stumbled into this little shop and was so bowled over that I had to call my Mom in New Jersey and said, "Mom I found the best cheeseburger yet!"It was amazing, my Mom...she would understand. Of course, this doesn't compare to the feasting on the presence of the Lord but the point is, that even a cheeseburger can create enough attention that you want to call home about it.
When we follow the Lord's example and "Do this in remembrance of Him" something miraculous happens and we have to tell somebody about it. This bread is so blessed that while we eat it, we find Him waiting there to spend a moment with us. That's the Miracle of CommunionFire! Its not just bread, its VisionBread! When we hold this bread we hold Him in our hands. When we eat the bread it is His Body that was broken for us. We feast on His presence. It is not figurative. Jesus said this is real food. This food shows us eternal life. We feed on the life of Jesus Christ and when we do we receive all that He provided.
The bread, His Body, when we eat it, opens the heart to encounter Jesus. When we do it sometimes triggers the 'wave' of the Holy Spirit that floods us with healing, deliverance, salvation, restoration, provision... all we need. Like this picture, Jesus is our bread and water. He is our total sustenance.
