CommunionFire in Scripture
Chapter Three
Our Table to His Table
In Revelation 3:20 JESUS stands at the doorway and knocks. He calls out to us. If we hear Him and open the door, He reveals who He is. Then He comes in and dines with us and us with Him. We reason together with Him until our sins that were scarlet become white as snow. He makes us a part of "the Called Out Ones" The one flock of the Ekklesia of JESUS.
He unites us to those called out to commune with Him. From our table He invites us to follow Him as the Good Shepherd (John 10). to His Table, the Table of the Servant King (Luke 14, John 13) where we feast on His presence, the bread of life (John 6).
We become One with Him and each other at the Communion Table (John 17)
From My Table He leads us to His Table as He leads us to The Table in His House Forever
We recognize He is our Shepherd and we have no needs any more. He has become my everything. He makes me to lie down in His green pastures by fresh springs of water where He restores me? The He leads me in paths of righteousness to know all His names. Then He leads through the valley of the shadows of death where I have no fears about evil because He is there with His rod to drive back the enemy and His staff to gently nudge me towards His daily destination.
But where is He leading?
His day to day destination is to lead and invite us to sit where:
1) He prepares a Table before us! (All are invited and He wants His Table full)
2) in the presence of my enemies, (Things that try to keep us from coming to sit with Him)
3) where He anoints our head with oil (the oil of revelation/the Holy Spirit's activity as we are feasting on His presence the bread of life), until we share what He has revealed because
4) my cup overflows (my heart; His life pours into me (the wine) and overflows with His
5) goodness and mercy that now
6) follow me for the rest of my life (from the overflow at His Table each day) until
7) I will dwell in His House forever
The final destination is His Banqueting Table where He will drink the wine with us for the first time since the Last Supper.
The 1st Communion or Last Supper is where JESUS gave us the instructions on how to meet with Him until He returns. It is through the "Do this to remember I am here in your life" - in Communion that leads us into the spiritual awareness of Fire/Glory/Doxa/Phos/Rhema of JESUS. It is the 'warmth of His loving, gentle, kind merciful real Presence. That is the miracle.
That's why we call this CommunionFire - the Fire is encountering His presence while having Communion. He is the bread and it is His blood. When we feast on Him we are feasting on His presence. Something must happen and something does. We feed on eternal life and that does something in us and to us.
