One person recently said, “When I ate the communion bread I saw Jesus! It was just like that story of Emmaus when Jesus blessed and broke the bread and their eyes were opened and they recognized Him!”
“Now Jesus was looking at me! He spoke as He motioned, ‘Follow Me.’ I can’t tell you how powerful that was. You read about it in the Gospels and you try on your own but when Jesus says it to you directly, it’s like He is personally empowering you at that moment with the ability to follow Him.” As told to us right after having communion at a men's group.
I hope you will enjoy the blog. I'll be here to answer your questions. We have prepared some simple booklets that will be available soon to provide additional inspiration. Remember to 'Look for Jesus in the breaking of the bread'.
If a picture is worth a thousand words and a miracle is worth a thousand sermons, then what would a personal encounter with Jesus be worth?
Why does CommunionFire Happen? We simply “do” what Jesus asked by remembering Him in Communion. Every morning Camille and I share a small piece of bread and a thimbleful of wine. While we are eating the bread the miracle begins! Eyes closed while eating, we come into the light of His presence. Each encounter with Him is almost immediate which is amazing enough but then while drinking the wine, we hear His voice by the power of the Holy Spirit.
While we are with Him, His love and peace seems to pour into our spirit. Then when we tell each other what we experience, His love seems to overflow. Encountering Jesus while eating the bread is why we started calling it CommunionFire™. Something fantastic and wonderful is taking place. It is Jesus. He is alive. He invites us to His Table and then shares His life with us.
This is a time we stop everything else to remember Him. We have learned that this is not a time for Bible study, supplication or time to do devotional reading. We bring nothing to the Table. This is about Jesus. It is time to come into His presence. We know He is waiting for us. We look to Him and listen to Him. Even one moment is enough to change our lives. CommunionFire™ is the light and power of His presence and His words to us by the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Like the moment faith ignites when we are born again, we come to the table to remember He is as real as the bread we break, the cup that we hold in our hands and the wine we drink. He has lead us back into fellowship with Him. He is the good Shepherd who prepares the Table for us - even in the presence of our enemies. Sitting at His Table, feasting upon Him, our blindness is healed and we see Him. We recognize Him. We come into His glorious presence. We are communing with Him. Encountering Him and hearing Him is real.
It is Jesus. Seeing Him is usually very simple and profound. What He shows and tells us comes from Him. Camille often says, "You can't make this stuff up!" The Holy Spirit helps us to connect the dots and each experience is as profound as the day before. We have over 700 pages of documentation in our "Remembrance Diary" which we will be using to share from in future posts.
In Communion some people sense His presence as peace or healing. Some hear His voice by the whisper of the Holy Spirit and others see Jesus so clearly they can describe what He is wearing. What's important is that He is looking for us and waiting for us. He says, "Behold I am standing at the door of your heart and am knocking. If you hear me and open the door, I will come in and dine with you and you with me." Revelation3:20
The King of kings and Lord of lords wants to spend time with you! He meets us where we are as we are for who we are. It is unconditional. He wants to spend real time with us. He came that through Him we can have life, His life! He wants to share His life with us more than anything. The miracle is seeing him and knowing Him in person.
The Apostle John understood that the testimony of Jesus doesn't stop with the paper and ink of Scripture. In fact his final message and the final verse of the Gospels indicates that Jesus is sharing with us constantly. His testimony to us is very sure. He writes, “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” He writes this in his revelation of Jesus, “For the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10 He is still sharing His story with us today. Each one of us.
